Apartment rents in Dallas are falling faster than the national average while construction of new rental communities and units surges. Rents decreased 1.1% in Dallas in December, compared to a 0.8% decrease nationally, according to the January Rent Report from Apartment List. Year-over-year rent growth in Dallas currently stands at 6.2%, compared to 0.7% at this time last year. Year-over-year growth in Dallas ranks 18th fastest among the nation's 100 largest cities. Rents in Dallas are up by 21% since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.
