A man in custody for the 2022 murders of two people - including his own father - died May 15 at Western State Hospital Monday, according to the Clallam County Sheriff's Office. Christopher Lee Haltom, 41, had been a patient since Feb. 17, after orders from Clallam County Superior Court. At 3:43 p.m. Feb. 25, 2022, deputies responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision on Wild Currant Way, east of Port Angeles. When deputies arrived, they found a man and woman dead in the car. Investigators determined the two people, Clay Haltom and Bryana Pressler, were not only victims of a homicide, but items left at the scene showed that Christopher Haltom - Clay's son - may have been in the car at the time of the murders.
