Texas Tech pitcher Brandon Beckel will serve an automatic four-game suspension for his ejection from the Texas Tech-Oklahoma State baseball series finale Sunday at Dan Law Field/Rip Griffin Park. The junior righthander from San Antonio Antonian was ejected after he struck out Cowboys right fielder Carson Benge to end the top of the sixth inning. Big 12 spokesman David Waxman said Wednesday in an email to the Avalanche-Journal that Beckel was ejected under a portion of the NCAA baseball rulebook that covers unsportsmanlike conduct.
